TonKichi Meal

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen,

It seems that Japanese food is very popular in Singapore so let me bring you to another place.

This is Tonkichi at Orchard Central at level 7.

As usual, the menu so that we know what to order.

Inside the Menu:

Inside consists some of their signature dishes. Wow. Yummy!

As the menu shows, they specialise in their pork meat. So many choices. What to choose?

Below shows the decorations and sitting atmosphere:
The above picture shows their various spices that 1 may wish to add inside their food.

Look at the number of sake they have on that shelf!

The atmoshere is very japanese theme.

High Quality Green Tea. The taste is very light and smooth. Free Flow too :)

Chilli Powder. Hot stuff.

Main Course (Hire Katsu Curry):

Next it will be a close up picture of each item that is being served.

1st is the Curry Sauce:

Now is the salad for a healthy living. They provide free flow of cabbage which is good for health. :)

Next up is the Miso Soup.

Now for the Carbo. The Japanese don (rice). It is served Free Flow

Last is desserts. It is watermelon which comes with it.

Overall Verdict:

The food is very nice. I really appreciate the free flow of rice and cabbage.

The pork taste is very special and the curry sauce is wow.

Only setback is the price. The meal costs me around S$30 after tax.

It has a very nice environment and i encourage people who are willing to pay for food and like to consume pork pay this place a visit.

It is a must come for pork lovers that food is most important regardless of price.

Hot Tomato Express Dinner (Plaza Singapura Outlet)

Hey hey,

Its me again. Back to Singapore this time.

Here i am bringing you Hot Tomato Express. It is at a very familar place which is at Plaza Singapura Basement level 2.

For a start, lets take a look at their menu:

As we top up to a set meal, it is being served with soup and drinks.
Drinks 1st:
Ice Lemon Tea for both of us

Next is the soup:
Its the standard Cream of Mushroom Soup. It is very nice and there is a lot of mushrooms inside it.

Now for the Main Course:
This is 1 of their recommended items. It is the :Mixed Grill" which consists of 3 types of meat served with Spaghetti. I never regret eating this. Be warned: It is very filling.

This is "Pork Chop with Sausage" which Vincent ordered. It is similar to mine.

Overall Verdict:

It is worth it if you are looking for decent food at an acceptable price. The meat is very tender and juicy. The soup and drinks are okay. There is quite a big area for dining and as such no worry looking for space if you are early.

It is located where there are many shops selling food & beverages hence competition is very tense.

Something interesting though. The only tomato based food is the tomato soup. Nothing else is tomato based. Hmm. Not really related to their shop name. I really wonder ....

I would urge every1 to give this place a shot.

Karaoke Session at NeWay

Greetings to all,

Thank you all for your kind support in reading this blog so far.

Allow me to bring you yet again another spot in JB. By the way, this is the karaoke that we visited after eating at the MerryBrown for lunch (as mentioned in my previous post).

Below are 2 pictures showing their food menu. Cheaper than in Singapore right? Haha!

And now for the pictures of the food. Here it goes ....
Does the food makes you hungry? Cos i sure am! :)

And now for the drinks Menu:

Actual pictures of the drinks being displayed. Feeling thirsty anyone?

Overall Verdict:

There is no doubt that it is definitely cheaper than in Singapore.

The drinks are quite unique in name but nothing special in taste.

As for the food, it is surprisingly good. And it is filling too. So 1 can consider eating their lunch there. Helps to save $ too!

The service is very good and the staff is very responsive. A call away and less than 10 seconds later, a staff is there to serve you. Be it microphone or the system error, they will be more than happy to serve you.

Do drop by should you be in City Square Mall Johor Bahru.

Lunch at MerryBrown (JB City Square Mall)

Yo Peeps,

Its me once again bringing you yet again another update.

This time we cross the border to our neighbouring country Malaysia, Johor Bahru. By the way, Singapore does not have any MerryBrown outlets.

The menu of MerryBrown

The sitting plan. Notice the swing seats in the rear?
 MerryBrown Chicken Rice. Yummy! :)
The Symbol of MerryBrown. Their Trademark.

Place where our order is taken. Hmm .... Where is the crowd?

Their set menu. Hmm .... Converting back to S$ will make our
fastfood meals look expensive.
Their Mascot. So cute right?

Overall Verdict:

Their service is acceptable and given the fact that they understand English surprises me.

Their prices are also reasonable. Okay, maybe it is cheaper than in Singapore due to the strong exchange rate. Haha. :)

In terms of food wise, obviously they are better than in Singapore. The chicken meat is sweet and tender and is more fresh.

So if you are in Malaysia, come check it out if you are interested in fastfood.

Desserts @ HoneyMoon Dessert

Hi Guys,

Its me again and this time i am bringing you desserts.

Wow. This is their "Thai Black Gultinous Rice with Mango (Coconut Juice)".

By mixing the black gultinous rice with the coconut juice and then eating it with the fresh mango is simply mind-blowing.

Being a fan of mango, I can't help but order this dessert.

A good thing is they use fresh mangoes and not the canned ones so quality is assured. Yummy. :)

The above picture shows the "Sweet Ball in Sweet Ginger Soup". Vincent ordered this  and found the sweet balls to be hand-made and they consists of a special peanut.

This shows that they do not use frozen peanut balls available in the supermarket and quality is assured. However, be warned that the filling may not be to every1's liking.

Overall Verdict:

Given the wide choices of desserts that they offer,it is best to choose one that you prefer and you will not be disappointed by your choice.

Its definitely worth your money and desserts prices range from around $2 to $6.50.

Hence, drop by and eat their desserts when one feels like it.

Tea Cosy Outing

Yo Folks,

As the title suggests, this time we are at Tea Cosy (aka 10,000 Angels)

The menu of Tea Cosy

Their Specialites (Flavoured Teas)
I had "Turkish Apple" while Vincent had "Tea Cosy Lychee Breeze"
Those are good drinks. As the pot is for 1 pax, it is very worth as one can keep refilling it.

The tea packet inside is the "Turkish Apple" sachet. It gives a very fruity and light hearted flavour

This is 1 of their pastas which is the "Braised Duck Pasta" with Penne as the pasta chosen.
The duck meat is very juicy and tender. There is a very light flavoured olive oil taste No regrets choosing this for me.
If you like duck meat and pasta, this is surely the 1 for you.

The above shows  1 of their most popular items. It is the "Baked Mushrooms"
It is best consumed 1 whole piece at a time. Let the cheese and mushroom being compressed and a very satisfying feeling comes out. Wow. Highly recommended!

This is part of their cosy environment. There are many figurines of angels surrounging the shop.
From the moment one steps into the shop, the feeling it gives is not that of any normal cafe.
It gives a very English type of cottage. To me i find it unique for such a shop to exist in Singapore.
Be sure to check it out.

That is me in the picture in the restaurant. As you can see, the decorations inside here is holy with so many figurines in the background.
It may seem heavenly to some even.
Be sure to check this place out if you are looking for cosy environment and tasty food!

Overall Verdict:

The food is nice and the environment is very unique.
However, one can expect prices here to be slightly expensive.
A simple main course with a pot of tea costs around S$20+.
There is a high tea special priced at $19.95/$$29.95 (1/2 pax) which is worth it.
